Let me give you all the quick and easy 411 about jewelry care. Personally I dive with my jewelry and I don't take it off till I get home where it can be put in the same exact place ...personally I don't recommend it but I know us beach lovers can't resist!
Lets be honest gold-filled will tarnish over time. The truth is that there are a variety of things that can affect your jewelry. Who you're and what your lifestyle is has a major affect on the longevity of your pieces.
MY GOAL IS TO OFFER YOU ADVICE BASED ON THE REALITIES OF DAILY LIFE
The metals naturally react to the various oils, PH, and temperatures that our bodies produce, and it varies from person to person. The higher temperature that your body runs the faster it will tarnish heat and the sun is not our friends as well as sunscreen, oils, lotions, etc. when it comes to jewelry. So what can we do to fight this!?
THE SAFEST CLEANING METHODS ARE ALSO THE EASIEST!
Most jewelry can be cleaned with warm water and a mild dish soap (no detergents) and a soft brush (toothbrush). Gently rinse with soap and water if you have gone in the ocean you can use a soft brush to make sure that you've gotten the salt particles or chlorine. Be sure to rinse your jewelry off thoroughly to remove soap. Wipe off as much water as you can and lay flat to dry overnight on a towel. If it is still not up to par with the chic and shine use polishing pads that will boost the look of it by 100! (I use these for minor touch ups they are made in the US and they do the job! amzn.to/2JxGPsU). If you want to send them to be re-polished with professional tools send me a description of your Jamie Ashley Design piece and we can discuss polishing options!
